Valve Reconditioning Service (VRS) has been delivering valve repair, maintenance, modification, and re-manufacturing services nationwide since 1969. Our cutting-edge facility in Melvindale, Michigan serves as a complete valve repair center, providing both in-house and on-site repairs for a variety of process valves.

The company was founded by Mario Carbonaro in June 1969, who brought his family's machining trade from Italy in 1965 after working at Industrial Valves in Ellwood City, PA. VRS remains a family-owned business, owned and operated by the Carbonaros, maintaining the quality and service of its humble beginnings while evolving into a sophisticated and multifaceted sales and service organization. Our exceptional knowledge, expertise, proven track record, and relationships have made us the leading repair and supply facility in the Midwest for over 50 years, spanning 13 states and providing services across four different countries.
Meet The Team
Michael Carbonaro
Michael Carbonaro leads Valve Reconditioning in industry knowledge. He is an expert in the field having started at VRS in June 1977 and has over forty years of experience in the manufacturing and valve repair industry. Michael was a distinguished board member of the Valve Repair Council (VRC) and is proud to have served as an instructor for the National Board in safety valve training. He has authored multiple articles in Valve Repair Magazine sharing his experience with others in the industry and is proud to have served as a guest panel speaker at the VRC annual meeting
Michael has experience in all aspects of valve repair, is a certified welder and is constantly pushing himself to be educated on all the latest techniques and procedures to help lead Valve Reconditioning to the forefront in valve repair and safety. His understanding of valve metallurgy and applications has led his company in becoming the leading tier 1 supplier in the valve industry.
Angela Carbonaro
Angela Carbonaro leads Valve Reconditioning and Valve Resource Specialist executive teams. She has over twenty five years of experience in the manufacturing and valve repair industry. Shortly after joining Valve Reconditioning she developed and established Valve Resource Specialist to service customer needs and now is one of the nations leading valve suppliers in the Midwest.

Angela has been responsible for managing both fixed and forced outages ranging from $500,000 to $1.5 million. She has experience in all aspects of project management, including but not limited to working directly with engineers, developing outage plans and budgets, and overseeing multiple valve technician crews while ensuring the highest safety standards. Her expertise also includes sourcing long lead time products during outage schedules meeting and delivering products

While at Valve Reconditioning asset management has been Angela's number one priority she implemented the SWAN asset management program in the early 2000’s to ensure proper documentation and safety.
